Eyebrow Transplant

Eyebrow Transplant

Eyebrow transplant is a cosmetic procedure designed to address thin or missing eyebrows. It involves the surgical removal of hair follicles from one part of the body (usually the back of the scalp) and their transplantation to the eyebrow area.

Consultation: The process begins with a consultation with a medical professional who will assess your needs and expectations. They will evaluate the donor area (where hair will be taken from) and discuss the shape and density of the desired eyebrows.

Anaesthesia: Local anaesthesia is administered to numb both the donor area and the eyebrow area to minimize discomfort during the procedure.

Hair Follicle Extraction: Hair follicles are usually extracted using one of two common methods:

  1. Follicular Unit Extraction (FUE): In this method, individual hair follicles are harvested one by one from the donor area using a specialized micro-punch tool. This method is less invasive and typically leaves minimal scarring.
  2. Strip Harvesting (FUT): This technique involves removing a strip of skin from the donor area and then dissecting it into individual hair follicles. It may leave a linear scar at the donor site, which can be hidden by surrounding hair.

Hair Transplantation: The extracted hair follicles are then carefully transplanted into tiny incisions made in the eyebrow area. The surgeon pays close attention to the angle, direction, and spacing of the transplanted hairs to ensure a natural appearance.

Healing and Recovery: After the procedure, patients are given post-operative care instructions, including the use of topical antibiotics and gentle washing of the transplanted area. Swelling and redness are common in the first few days but typically subside relatively quickly.

Results: Over time, the transplanted hairs should begin to grow in the eyebrow area. It may take several months for the final results to become fully visible, as hair growth is a gradual process.

Duration: 1 to 2 hours
